Biography of Nut Mongkolkasem

My father is from Ubon Ratchathani Province (born in the Year of the Rat), while my mother is from Lampang Province.(The province where Luang Por Kasem was born.)
I was born in Lampang Province as well, also in the Year of the Rat. My parents named me “Natapon.”
When I was a child, I once had a rare opportunity to personally meet Luang Phor Kasem. I cannot remember the event clearly because I was very young at the time, so I later asked my father to tell me what happened.

At that time(About BE.2538), Luang Phor Kasem was already ill. One day, my father took me to Triluk Cemetery. While we were walking around the cemetery (I was looking at pictures of Luang Phor Kasem), suddenly a close disciple of Luang Phor Kasem Khemako(Jao Prawet Na Lampang) who stayed inside Luang Phor’s residence came out and told my father to bring “the child” inside to meet Luang Phor Kasem.
My father was confused and wondered which child he meant, because it was not easy for anyone—especially a child—to meet Luang Phor, particularly during his illness.
Then the he pointed at me and said,“That child.”
After that, my father and I crawled into Luang Phor’s room to pay our respects. Around Luang Phor, there were many sacred amulets stored .
Luang Phor slowly sat up but did not say anything. He gently stroked my head two or three times and then asked us to leave.
A short while later, an ambulance arrived to take Luang Phor to the hospital. My father and me on his motorcycle and followed the ambulance all the way to the hospital.
That experience left a deep impression on my mind and heart, and from that moment on, the name Luang Phor Kasem Khemako has remained with me.
One day, I look amulets blessed by Luang Phor Kasem Khemako that my father had obtained from Trilak Cemetery. I was deeply impressed by the craftsmanship of the old master engravers, especially the work of Kasem Mongkolcharoen, one of the top amulet engravers in Thailand.
After seeing the beauty of the amulets, combined with my long-held faith, and learning that Luang Phor Kasem was also born in the Year of the Rat, I decided to study and collect amulets blessed by Luang Phor Kasem Khemako.
From that day on, I have committed myself to preserving and sharing his spiritual legacy, and to spreading his blessings as far and for as long as I possibly can.
